Vdral Yö Ner (/vdral/ /jo˞/ [purple] [man]) is a subtropical Town located in the Iastrokbruk Moot of the Viceroyalty of Rosid.

The name Vdral Yö Ner is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Vdral Yö Ner was founded by Esgarbes Phreirdrageec, who was culturaly Wood Elven.

Climate

Vdral Yö Ner has a yearly average temperature of 20°C (68°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 28°C (82°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 13°C (55°F). Vdral Yö Ner receives an average of 153 cm/y (60 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Vdral Yö Ner covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3184 m (10446 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Vdral Yö Ner was founded durring the early 12th century in fall of the year 1101, by Esgarbes Phreirdrageec. The establishment of Vdral Yö Ner was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Esgarbes Phreirdrageec electing to pay people to resettle in Vdral Yö Ner.

Vdral Yö Ner was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the early 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Vdral Yö Ner is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Vdral Yö Ner is buildings are arranged arround a network of crampt flagstone streets which form a grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town has a defencive wall made from querried stone. The wall is equipped with a full set of battlments but the nature of its construction methodology leaves it somewhat vulnerable to siege equipment. That said, the town is well defended against anything short of an army. Vdral Yö Ner's cost-cutting-focused defences has sufferd soem light damage, reducing its function a little in some spots, but could almsot certainly preform as expected... Though some of the worse spots could lead to the loss of defenders lives if attackers identified the weaknesses ahead of time.

The town shows nothing out of the ordinary, at first glance. Then you start to notice all the small things. Each window has seven iron nails pounded into the sill. Every door has a sprig of holly overhead. Every well is branded with purity seals and runes to ward the contents. Everyone is carrying a small charm for safety or fortune, be it a rabbit’s foot, a horseshoe, or other little totems.

Civic Infrastructure

Vdral Yö Ner has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Vdral Yö Ner. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Vdral Yö Ner's parks.

Vdral Yö Ner has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Vdral Yö Ner.

Vdral Yö Ner has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Vdral Yö Ner has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Vdral Yö Ner has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Vdral Yö Ner's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Vdral Yö Ner has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Vdral Yö Ner's natural decorations nor waterways.

Vdral Yö Ner has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Vdral Yö Ner has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Vdral Yö Ner's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known primarily for its use of abstraction and simplicity. Clean lines, right angles, and primary colors characterized this aesthetic and art movement expressed via architecture and paintings. Its design ethos allows only primary colors and non-colors, only squares and rectangles, only straight and horizontal or vertical lines. Vertical and horizontal lines are positioned in layers or planes that do not intersect, thereby allowing each element to exist independently and unobstructed by other elements. These seemingly impossible principals for an architectural style coalesces into structures which most experts find hard to put into words. It is not that their geometry is impossible, but rather the style's attempt at producing works only describable visually was most successful..

Due to the actions of local Kami, winter is short in Vdral Yö Ner.

The Azer near Vdral Yö Ner are known to be a mutant strain of the creature.

Vdral Yö Ner's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in summer and involves consuming a local narcotic to channel Charm energies of tier 2 via recitation of poetic epics.

Rather than repairing them correctly, a series of new roads was laid atop the old, leading to the streets of modern Vdral Yö Ner suffering from potholes, cracking, and even sinkholes. The locals often repair the road by putting down wooden decking.
